Testimonials of the Month |
Well, I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical when my brother-in-law introduced me to your hemp seed oil. I wasn't expecting anything to happen other than maybe shiny hair :-) After using up one of his 12oz bottles he purchased from you, I then purchased 12 of my own. After approximately 3 months I began noticing changes in my body. My knee joints that were beginning to give me attitude began to be more pain free and now I have no pain at all. My memory recall has heightened. My general well being and alertness has been very noticeable. My cardiac specialist said after my last check up this month, "I don't know what your doing but keep doing it." (I had a by pass two years ago) I am not shy in letting people know how good your product is. I will be re-ordering. Thanks for the wonderful product.

Alan, we sincerely thank you for trusting your brother-in-law! Fantastic job at raising the level of quality in your life. Life long health to you!

Thanks a million Manitoba Harvest! Having a baby who is lactose intolerant is so tough. Of course the pediatrician recommended Soy (horrible!). I'm so happy I found your Hemp Bliss organic hempmilk. I am at ease knowing the most important thing in my life is well nourished.

Thanks Dawna! This beautiful bundle is guaranteed a happy and healthy hemp filled life. Way to start her on her blissful path! Of course for being featured in our Messenger you and the little one receive some free goodies from Manitoba Harvest. Can we guess what you may want?

Hello, I visited your booth at Green Festival in Chicago. It is great to see your products being featured. I was drawn to your Hemp Bliss organic hempmilk after being diagnosed with a soy allergy. I buy the one with the least amount of sweetener and then add my own as needed. I think it is very amazing that I could find a beverage without so much sweetener already added. Thanks for some really great products!
Sincerely,

Great news Brenda! We have a surprise for you. In addition to our lightly sweetened (6g sugar per serving) Original Hemp Bliss, we have introduced an Unsweetened Original as well. You too receive a gift from the team at Manitoba Harvest as a thank you for taking time out of your day to write us with such great feedback.

Hemp Packs in Powerful Source of Preconception Nutrition
Meghan Atkinson, CN
It may come to no surprise that nourishing the body with excellent nutrition is essential for moms-to-be during pregnancy. However, it is just as important for her to eat a healthy diet before conception occurs. In addition, the same is true for dads-to-be. This will greatly assist in increasing fertility and laying down the foundation for a happy, healthy baby. One of the best foods to include on the preconception menu is hemp!
EFAs for Super Mammas:
Reproductive hormones are synthesized from healthy fats. A balanced hormonal profile lends to healthy conception. In addition, building up the stores of essential fatty acids before conception is critical for a mother to-be because the baby will pull from the mother's reserves during pregnancy. Not only will this affect the health of the baby, but a mother who is lacking EFAs will often experience post-partum depression, emotional imbalances, chronic fatigue, and inflammatory conditions.
Men Need Them Too:
Obtaining adequate levels of EFAs is especially important for men because they affect the quality of semen. In fact, studies show that 26% of infertility incidents are from the man. Semen is rich in prostaglandins, which are produced from EFAs. When the man is lacking in EFAs, his semen will have a lower sperm count and or poor motility.
Baby Fats:
The fetus experiences the most growth during the first 3 months of pregnancy. This is why it is so important to have that foundation of EFAs in place before pregnancy even begins. The developing fetus needs these precious fats for every system of the body. The brain alone is over 60% fat and is rich in both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. In addition, deficiencies in EFAs are linked with low birth rates, and learning and emotional disorders later in life.
Healthy Family with Hemp:
Considering that 90% of Americans are deficient in Essential Fatty Acids, and the critical role they play in the health of mom and dad to-be and baby, a good source of EFAs is critical. The good news - Hemp contains naturally occurring EFAs in the exact ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 that the human body requires. Taking two tablespoons of hemp oil everyday is a wonderful way for couples to get the EFAs required for prime preconception nutrition, as well as overall good health.

Team Manitoba |
Hello to you all!
I'm special agent Scott Hutchinson, the new Visual Communication Specialist (a.k.a Graphic Designer) for Manitoba Harvest.
I was born and raised in Manitoba, Canada and just graduated with a post Graduate Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design from Red River College. This was after a two year Design Diploma and three years of Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba. I still can't believe I scored this job BEFORE I even graduated!!! If someone had asked me to write the description of my dream job, I don't think I could have dreamed it up to be this good.
I'm really into music, especially the local scene, and I enjoy drawing, cooking, camping, fishing and dominating in Fooseball. I'm super excited to be a part of the Manitoba Harvest family and I look forward to contributing in all the ways I know I can.
Since leaving University I've dropped 100 pounds and I have at least 100 more to go. Being a part of Manitoba Harvest is going to be perfect for me. My goal is to lose all the weight I want while munching super tasty hemp foods, drinking chocolate Hemp Bliss (yummmmm), and designing my heart out. Plus, I have to get in better shape than our President, Mike (who lost 100 pounds himself around my age).
Three favorite bands (this week): 1) The Raconteurs - the new album is NICE. 2) Lupee Fiasco - he is a deadly good poet. 3) The Foo Fighters - they have been in my top five since The Color and The Shape was released in '97. Honorable Mentions :Wilco, Radiohead, The Besnard Lakes, Joy Division, The Perpatrators, Band of Horses, Cold War Kids and Beck just to name a few.
Three favorite movies: 1) Step into the Liquid - One of the greatest Surfing Doc's ever. 2) There Will be Blood - Daniel Day Lewis could take a you-know-what on a roll of film and it would win an Oscar. 3) The Nines - Very cool, confusing but entertaining. Honorable Mentions :Juno, Superbad, Full Metal Jacket, Amelie, Jaws, Bottle Rocket..... this could go on for awhile.
Three favorite books: 1) Catcher in the Rye - the first book that I really read and enjoyed. 2) Blindness - can't wait for the movie. 3) The Beat of Urban Art - Justin Bua is my favorite contemporary artist.
Cheers,Scott |
