A warmest
welcome to Manitoba Harvest's new & improved newsletter. The
Messenger's name has stayed the same but we are happy to bring you what
we feel is an easier to navigate and more informative monthly newlsetter.
We hope
everyone is getting ready for the coming winter months by planning meals
with family, scheduling time for celebrating the holidays and hopefully
fitting in some healthy outdoor activities.
We also
continue to offer you the opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings
with us. Please feel free to email us here with any
and all thoughts, ideas and requests you may have for the Manitoba
Messenger.

 We start you off with a great shot of one of our 2007 hemp
fields blowing in the prairie winds. We were blessed this year to have a
100 acre hemp field inside Winnipeg city limits. This allowed visiting
friends, colleagues, media reporters and our local Hemp Field
Farm Tour attendees to have only a 15 minute drive from our facility to
take in this luscious view. For locals and travelers alike, next fall
keep your eyes open for the third annual Hemp Field Tour sponsored by
Organza Market, Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils and Dandelion
Organic Restaurant.

As some of you may already know we provide our
freshest organic hemp seed oil to many companies making excellent body
care products. A great fundraiser was thrown by one of our
customers in the name of breast cancer. Our friends at Pangea Organics threw an amazing event this past week at ABC Home and
Carpet in NYC. The featured guest speaker was Mr. Mitchell L. Gaynor,
Founder and President of the Gaynor Integrative Oncology. Air America's CLOUT! show host
Richard Greene aired live at 10pm from the event where he even
interviewed one of Manitoba Harvest's own who was on site for the event. Elephant Magazine got some
Manitoba Harvest on camera interview time as well! We wish to thank
Pangea Organics for everything wonderful they do for you, for us and for
the world.

Apple Pie Mayhem Smoothie
It's apple season and from the kitchen of one of our our
very own chefs and educators, Joanne Speakman, comes this awesome
smoothie recipe.
2 cups Hemp Bliss organic hemp milk (original or
vanilla)
1 large or 2 small fresh apples, cored, peeled if desired,
and diced
¼ cup maple syrup ( optional)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon ground ginger
4-8 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients in a blender. Blend until
smooth. Serves 2-4.

 Manitoba Harvest Hemp Foods & Oils took
home the award for Best New Food Product 2007 for our
Hemp Bliss - Organic Hemp Milk. Hemp Bliss is an innovative and
nutritious new beverage that stood out above thousands of other
products displayed at the Natural Products Expo East from September 26-29
in Baltimore, Maryland. The award was voted on by retail and
distribution attendees at the show, which attracted a record crowd of
more than 25,000 attendees and 1,790 exhibits. Natural Products Expo
is the largest event in the industry.

Did you
know women can use hemp seed oil as a make-up remover for a more
enriching, chemical free alternative to most make-up removers? You can
either try and remember to take your bottle out of the fridge ever
morning (which proved to be challenging) OR place oil into a small bottle
and keep it in the bathroom. No refrigeration is necessary for topical
application as long as you go through the bottle of oil in two to
four weeks. Refill when needed and watch your skin GLOW!
Shelled
hemp seed, hemp seed oil and a little French sea salt are the best
toppings for your pumpkin and squash dishes this winter season. We have
yet to find something that delivers the nutrients and at the same time
gives a beautiful nutty flavour and richness to your dishes. Of course we
recommend these products as toppings for anything! Even ice cream.
More and
more body care companies are supplementing lip care with hemp seed oil.

Manitoba Harvest just brought our fresh hemp
foods and Hemp Bliss Organic Hemp Milk to the Washington, DC Green
Festival. Green Festival was a great success with visits and
interviews with NBC and Discovery Channel as well as a syndicated TV station
from China! We sampled Hemp Bliss and watched people walk away with
entire cases of 12. If you are located in Seattle, Chicago,

 Here we have Azaria Rice, age 9, who enjoyed our
Hemp Bliss down to last drop while visiting our booth in Washington DC.
Azaria is a vegetarian so both her and her mom were very excited to find
